Chinese & Careers / CAREER PATH

Chinese + procurement & supply chain

Turn supplier conversations into clear specifications, comparable quotes and reliable follow-up.

HSKReady · 19 Oct 2026

What the work actually involves

A sourcing role connects a business need with a product that can be delivered. Chinese helps you ask a factory about materials, minimum order quantities, sample revisions and lead times. The work also involves comparing answers, documenting changes and getting approval.

The professional skill to add

Practise a small, complete purchasing task: compare three fictional supplier quotes using the same specification. Include unit price, quantity, delivery assumptions and unresolved questions. Explain why the cheapest quote may not meet the requirement. This exercise is a portfolio suggestion, not a requirement quoted from an employer.

Choose an HSK target from the actual advert

The two cases below use different language requirements. Record whether a certificate is compulsory, preferred or not mentioned before choosing a target. HSKReady supports the exam preparation part; supplier negotiation, costing and workplace communication need their own practice.

What the job adverts actually said
