Passes 1–2: tasks and responsibility
First, underline the verbs in the responsibilities: compare, translate, calculate, negotiate, coordinate or report. Then identify what you are expected to own. “Support a meeting” and “manage a supplier contract” involve different accountability even when both use Chinese.
Passes 3–4: evidence and professional skills
Copy the language requirement into a separate note without strengthening it. Keep “preferred” as preferred. Record years of experience, tools and domain knowledge separately. If the title says interpreter but the duties mention production planning, flag that mismatch for the interview.
Pass 5: questions you still need answered
Confirm the reporting line, typical language tasks, assessment format and whether the vacancy is still open. Save the original URL and capture date. Your final note should contain three lists: evidence you already have, gaps you can work on, and requirements you must verify with the employer.
