Privacy Policy

HSK Ready is operated by The Cogitolab Technology Limited. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to this company. We use the minimum information needed to provide your account, learning progress, exam history, vocabulary review, and subscription access. This policy explains what we handle and the choices available to you.

Information we handle

• Account information: account identifier, email address, and sign-in provider information when you choose to sign in.
• Learning information: selected language and level, learning progress, practice results, vocabulary state, exam attempts, and reports.
• Purchase information: product and entitlement status supplied by Apple App Store or Google Play. HSK Ready does not receive your full payment-card number.
• Technical information: limited diagnostic, authentication, and security events needed to operate and protect the service.
• Optional product analytics: bounded app usage, campaign, and performance events, together with a random app-installation identifier and coarse app/device context, used to improve HSK Ready. These events do not include learning answers, question text, recordings, email addresses, tokens, or purchase receipts. Product analytics is off unless you explicitly choose to share it during setup or turn it on from the Privacy section in the app. You can turn it off again at any time.

Website analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics on public website pages to understand page views, visitor counts, referring sites, campaign labels, approximate country, and browser and device types. We also measure store-button and social-link clicks, practice starts, completions and retries, and successful Unit-link copies. These interactions include only the relevant button location, store or social network, or public Unit identifier and interface language. It does not use tracking cookies. We do not send account identifiers, sign-in credentials, or practice answers or scores with these page views or interactions. The account-deletion page is excluded; other URL query parameters and fragments are removed before reporting. This website measurement is separate from the optional analytics setting in the mobile app and App Clip. Learn more about Vercel Web Analytics privacy.

App Clip previews

App Clip previews do not require sign-in and do not save answers to your learning history. A verified Unit link is stored locally in an Apple App Group for up to 24 hours so the full HSK Ready app can continue to it after installation. This does not use clipboard access or device fingerprinting.

If you enable Share usage data in the App Clip, we send preview usage, Unit and campaign identifiers, and installation-button taps through Supabase using a pseudonymous analytics account. A random preview-session identifier can connect these events to a subsequent full-app handoff only when you also enable analytics in the full app. No preview answers are sent. You can turn sharing off in the Clip at any time; events before consent are not backfilled. In version 1.0.2, Clip consent does not enable full-app analytics. Starting with version 1.0.3, the sharing notice in both experiences explicitly covers HSK Ready and its App Clip. A choice made under that notice is stored locally in the App Group and inherited by the full app before collection starts: agreement enables sharing, an explicit refusal keeps it off, and no decision leaves it off until you choose. A choice already made in the full app takes precedence. Legacy preview-only agreement is not upgraded to full-app permission. No Clip sign-in credentials or earlier unconsented events are transferred. You can withdraw consent in the full app's Privacy settings, stopping further collection and clearing unsent analytics. Shared consent is separate from the 24-hour Unit link. Apple separately controls its own App Clip analytics sharing.

Voice practice recordings

Voice practice recordings are stored locally on your device for short-term practice and recovery. They are not uploaded to the HSK Ready service. Removing a recording, deleting your account in the app, or the app's scheduled cleanup removes the applicable local file.

How we use information

We use this information to provide and synchronize learning features, generate exam reports, protect accounts, apply free and paid access, restore purchases, troubleshoot failures, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers

HSK Ready uses Supabase for authentication, database, and backend services; Apple and Google for sign-in and store purchases; and infrastructure providers needed to deliver this website and service. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.

Retention and deletion

Account-linked learning data is retained while your account is active. When account deletion completes, the learner profile and associated progress, exam, vocabulary, and account data are deleted. Minimum purchase, fraud-prevention, security, financial, or legal records may be retained where required and are detached from the deleted learner account when possible.

User-linked raw product analytics are retained for no more than 180 days. Anonymous aggregate reporting is retained for no more than 13 months. Deleting your account deletes raw analytics linked to that account.

You can initiate deletion in the app or through the account deletion page. Deleting an HSK Ready account does not cancel an Apple or Google store subscription.

Security

We use encrypted network connections, platform-provided secure credential storage, access controls, and account-scoped data rules. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please protect your sign-in credentials and contact us if you suspect misuse.

Children

HSK Ready is a general learning product and is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to online services in their region. A parent or guardian can contact us about a learner's account.

Your choices

You may review account details in the app, sign out, restore eligible purchases, request support, or delete your account. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, restrict, or object to certain processing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as HSK Ready changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the app, website, or another appropriate channel.
